After celebrating Memorial Day Weekend, which always kicks off the season, we are officially in summer mode! This calls for more time spent outdoors relaxing and hosting and entertaining friends & family. If you have an outdoor space, now is the time to dial up the comfort and functionality! These are my tips and tricks for how to elevate your space to be backyard barbecue ready.
Go neutral with lounge sofas and sectionals. I personally love a black metal or wood frame sofa with neutral outdoor cushions. A timeless anchor piece of furniture that can go in any direction aesthetically over time!
Get colorful with outdoor accessories. Add excitement with fun pillows and planters. West Elm and World Market are my go-to vendor sources for color and affordability here!
Add an outdoor rug! They give an indoor/outdoor living feeling, adding an extension to your home. They aren't expensive, and they feel great on bare feet!
Add planters + larger plants. I suggest adding them to your deck or paved areas, it adds personality and visual appeal. I love planters in groupings of 2-3, with varying heights.
For me, designing a space like your outdoor deck or yard is especially special because it is where you will be making lifelong summer memories with those around you. Let's make it beautiful! Enjoy your summer!
